YETI AIRLINES FLIGHT 691 CRASHED IN NEPAL 68 PASSENGERS ON-BOARDED DURING THE LANDING

Yeti Airlines flight 691 crashed in Nepal 68 passengers onboard. On 15th January 2023, a Flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara operated by Yeti Airlines The flight includes around 15 foreign nations and four cabin crew. This flight is operated by the ATR 72 9N-ANC and took off around 10:33 am. Indians are also on board this flight.

how did yeti airlines crash. Yeti Airlines ATR 72-500 took off around 10 from Kathmandu (Tribhuvan international airport) and crashed into seti river near the airport bored 68 passengers with 4 cabin crew total of 72 people.

Till now 40 bodies have been recovered from the crust site and the Nepal army and civil Aviation Authority of Nepal trying to recover bodies

Nepal’s aviation industry always faces the concern of poor safety standards which led to poor maintenance and training of staff. And also Nepal’s geographical location is so challenging for the most experienced pilot they even faced a lot of challenges during the landing of the aircraft. Most of the runways in Nepal souring by mountain peaks and have difficulty approaching angels and frequent weather changes that affect visibility

In 2022 Nepal’s civil aviation authority make a rule that airlines should operate their flight only when the weather is clear, and visibility is good for the flight.

But according to the Napal Civil Aviation Authority there was some technical issues with the aircraft that result in the aircraft crash not weather of the location.

Did you know the Aircraft crashed in Yeti Airlines Accident was used by Indian Kingfisher Airlines.

The Aircraft used by Yeti Airlines in flight 691 was ATR 72-500 a was a Reginal aircraft used for Short Haul flights by regional airlines. The Aircraft is manufacture by the ATR for short haul flight mostly connecting airport with short runways or regions where there is difficulty to land.

In India ATR 72 is used by Alliance air and Indigo Airlines for short routes

Yeti Airlines accident happen on 15th January 2023 during flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu. The accident happens during the approach at Pokhara international airport. As per the Civil aviation Authority of Nepal the reasons were technical issue not whether related.

There were 72 passengers on the flight including 5 Indians.

You will be surprised to Know the Same Aircraft was used by Indian Airlines “Kingfisher Airlines”  

The Aircraft used in Accident was 15 years old Aircraft MSN 754 the Aircraft was purchased by Leasing Company called KF Turbo Leasing  and then leased the aircraft to  Kingfisher Airlines on 17th August 2007 with REG of “VT-KAJ” and then to NOK Air after that Yeti Airlines received the Aircraft on 26th April 2019
